German inflation rises more than expected in October

By FXStreet FXStreet (Mumbai) – The cost of living in Germany as represented by the consumer price index (CPI) rose on account of an uptick in food prices and service charges.

The CPI printed at 0.3% m/m in October, beating the estimated rise to 0.2% from 0.0%. The annualised inflation stalled in October, beating the estimated drop of -0.1%. The harmonised consumer price index for Germany calculated for European purposes is expected to be up 0.2% in October 2015 year on year. It is not expected to change from September 2015.

Food prices rose 1.6% y/y, while energy prices dropped again by 8.6% y/y.
