US stocks post first weekly gain of the year
|By FXStreet FXStreet (Córdoba) – US stocks rose sharply on Friday and posted the first weekly gain of 2016, as oil prices gained more than 9 while investors cheered up signs of further easing from the ECB and the BoJ.
The DJIA gained 211 points, or 1.33%, at 16,093. The S&P added 38 points, or 2.03%, to end at 1,906. The Nasdaq climbed 119 points, or 2.66%, to 4,591.
For the week, the Dow rose 0.7%, the S&P advanced 1.4% and the Nasdaq Composite gained 2.3%.
